ABOUT Umenno

His sire (now deceased) belonged to the famous VDL Stud in
Holland. Not only was Wellington a successful show jumper, but he was also an achieved dressage stallion. He has sired many ‘ster’ and ‘keur’ mares and many approved stallion sons including Farrington, Glennridge and Emillion of World Cup success. His offspring are of International show jumping standard include Jerome, VDL Jupiter and What a Game. Proving himself to be a versatile sire, Wellington also sired many successful dressage horses including Ceylon and Bolvorms to name but a few.
Umenno’s grandsire, the legendary Nimmerdor, was named KWPN Stallion of the Century. Son of the ‘preferent’ stallion Farn, the ‘preferant’ Nimmerdor was the most famous of all the old-fashioned
Holstein’s offspring. Nimmerdor has had a tremendous, far-reaching influence upon the world of equestrian breeding and has sired over 50 Approved sons as well as a multitude of international show jumpers and exceptional brood mares.
Umenno’s dam, Evelien (Ster) was one of of 17 offspring out of the Ster Pref mare Solinde. Evelien was one of eight progeny of both Samber and Solinde and is full sister to Sambuco B a fully Licensed stallion with the German warmblood studbook ZfdP.
Evelien herself produced 12 offspring 7 of which have proven themselves in sport the most notable the nine year old mare Pirozet who competed to Z level and Umenno's six year old full brother, Tocher, currently competing at M level dressage and progressing well. A number of her other progeny have received Keur status and have been valuable additions to the KWPN stud book.

Evelien was a daughter of the world famous Approved coloured stallion Samber another truly versatile stallion, and to date the most famous of all coloured sires.

Samber achieved ZZ level in Show jumping and Grand Prix level in dressage. Samber has also proven himself a remarkable sire producing versatile offspring succeeding in all Olympic disciplines and remains the only Approved coloured stallion with the K.W.P.N. – at present…

In 2005 his ridden career has also been superb. jumping successfully BSJA up to Newcomers 1.10m as a 4 year old. He qualified for the Royal show, potential showjumper, the Royal International Horse Show BSPA Ridden finals, Burghley young event horse, Arena UK 4 year old SJ championship, and the Scottish Sports Horse 4 year old showjumping sport horse series along with numerous Overall Championships in ridden sport horse classes often standing vainquer to older competitors. As a five year old Umenno qualified for the BSJA National five year old finals winning both qualifying classes entered with Joanna Storrie and fullfilled a very busy stud season.
His status as a stallion.

M. A. Hoeffs announced to the audience "A stallion showing great expression to his movement good conformation, a very good horse! Umenno's offspring are eligible for registration and passports with the SSH and the KWPN Reg B both of which are fully approved EU and WBSHF studbooks.

Umenno For Dressage
To date Umenno's' foals have all shown very correct conformation. He adds tremendous elasticity and suppleness to his foals paces, with good self carriage. Undeniably he improves on mares that are more restricted in their paces, opening the shoulder action and strengthening the quarters, he generally improves on weaker mares top lines in particular in the loin area and lower set necks as is often found in thoroughbred mares. All of his foals to date have exceptionally loving and gentle characters with sufficient boldness and braveness without being overly boisterous making them exceedingly easy to work with.
Umenno for Jumping Ability
We have watched a number of his foals loose schooled over small fences and they have all shown a special aptitude demonstrating great style, technique and scope. Umenno should therefore be your number one choice if you are looking for versatility as it is exceedingly rare that a sire can produce progeny that combine both extravagant paces suitable for high level dressage and the ability to jump.

The filly foal Kalimino owned by Debbie Lamb achieved 85 for her trot and 80 for her canter giving her an overall 80 for movement and 75 for conformation.
In 2005 Umenno's first crop of foals arrived, the results were very pleasing and all of their owners have expressed great delight.

In 2006 Umenno's second crop of foals exceeded all expectations, with two of our home bred colt foals achieving the much coveted first premiums inspected by the KWPN.

The two home bred colt foals previously mentioned Bavarnno by Umenno out of Velita our young ster mare by Goodtimes x Ulft sold to Mark Charlton Walsh and Bazinno by Umenno out of P.Zermie from the famous Dermie damline sold to Hockwold Lodge Stud also acheived 1st premiums, achieving 70 for conformation 76 for movement, 73 for conformation and 80 for movement respectively.

Umenno possesses an incredible trainable temperament, flamboyant & powerful movement, a beautifully marked chestnut and white robe, and a pedigree of legendary ancestry....

Umenno has been bred with athleticism in mind. He is an expressive powerful mover with off the floor paces and an additional flick to the toe. Umenno is now showing tremendous ability in the showjumping arena now out of British novice and Discovery classes and finished jumping Newcomers (1.10m) as a four year old. In 2006 he qualified for the National Five year old classes winning both classes entered and will be leaving for Switzerland to commence his career on the International European circuit debuting in the summer of 2007.
